On Thursday, February 4, 2021, the General Director of GDDIA, Lieutenant General (rtd) Theodoros Lagios HAF, participated in the 7th Intergovernmental Defence Council of Greece – Cyprus, which was held by teleconference, in the context of a permanent, stable and upgraded political cooperation between the two countries in Defense and Security
During the 7th Intergovernmental Council, the Defence Initiatives in the EU were discussed, where Greece and Cyprus cooperate closely and an exchange of views took place to coordinate the positions of the two countries, on issues related to Permanent Structured Cooperation (PESCO).
During the Counsil, issues of common interest were also discussed.
