Conference of National Armaments Directors – CNAD

On 11 April 2019, the NATO Conference of National Armaments Directors (CNAD) held at NATO HQ in Brussels, with the attendance of the Alternate General Director of GDDIA, Lt General (ret) Dimitrios Balafoutis.
CNAD is the senior NATO Committee for the cooperation in the area of armaments, materiel and standardization in the defence sector. The mission of CNAD is to promote multinational cooperation for the improvement of military capabilities of the Alliance, in order to enhance the effectiveness of NATO’s current and future operations.
During the conference, the 1st Amendment of the Letter of Intent (LoI) for the multinational effort to cooperate on the development of Maritime Unmanned Systems was signed. This amendment concerns the participation of France in the initiative.
