From January 21 to 24, 2025, a visit took place in Rome (Italy) by a delegation of the GDDIA headed by Major General Ioannis Bouras, General Director.
The activities included a bilateral meeting at NAD level, G-G discussions and visits to military installations and companies of the Italian Defence Industry (Fincantieri, Leonardo, Electronika).
During the visit, the General Director of GDDIA also met and had conversations with the Ambassador of Greece in Italy Ms. Eleni Sourani.
Ιn the context of the above discussions the two parties agreed on:
a. Increase governmental bilateral meetings, in order to enhance the current cooperation in the field of armaments.
b. Increase mutual knowledge between Italian and Greek companies through dedicated Industry Days in order to explore ways of cooperation.
c. Expand the use of EU tools, such as EDF and EDIS, to enhance the collaboration between Italian and Greek Defense industries.
d. Cooperation between the two organizations (SGD- GDIAEE) in future procurement programs, provision of support services, etc.
e. SGD participation in the next DEFEA exhibition that will be held in Athens in May 2025.
f. Future visits to weapons systems manufacturing, repair and support facilities in Italy.
