1st Hellenic-Indonesian Defence Industry Meeting

On 3rd November 2016, during the official visit of the Minister of National Defence of Greece Panos Kammenos to Indonesia and the participation of GDDIA at the International Exhibition INDO DEFENCE 2016 EXPO&FORUM held at Jakarta, the 1st Hellenic-Indonesian Defence Industry Meeting took place.
The meeting was inaugurated by the Minister of National Defence of Greece, in the presence of the Ambassador of Greece in Jakarta G. Dogoriti, the Chairman of the Hellenic Parliament Armament Programs and Contracts Committee S. Balli, the GDDIA Alternate Director General K. Kyriakidis and the President of the Hellenic Manufacturers of Defence Material Association (SEKPY) A. Rozolis. The Indonesian side was represented by the Chairman of Implementing Team Admiral TNI Sumardjono.
During the meeting the capabilities of the Hellenic defence industries were presented, especially those of the participating industries and an agreement for further cooperation was signed by two industries of the two countries. The Indonesian side was represented by its public defence industries and a number of its private ones.
Finally, during the exhibition, a new co-production line of a Hellenic private industry and an Indonesian public industry was launched and two private industries of the two countries announced that they are going to initiate a cooperation for the production of state of the art systems.
